Are NYC Taxi Cabs Invading Albany? [UPDATE]
What the heck is going on today that there are dozens (literally) of NYC cabs in the Albany area? When I was trying to get onto 87 in Glenmont there was a row of ten NYC cabs all apparently lost. Then on 87 headed toward the 87-90 interchange I counted at least a dozen more. When I got to the tolls they were all over the place and I finally snapped a photo of one pulled over on Washington Ave Ext.
Are they in town for some sort of protest at the capitol building or did something go terribly wrong with their GPS?
Or are the Canadians finally invading and using NYC cabs as Trojan horses.
UPDATED:
Yes, apparently they are invading in protest of a proposed changes to the way they are operating. They really ought get GPS because all of them were very, very lost if they were trying to get anywhere near the capitol building. All Over Albany has more photos and a little more information on the story too.
